Rykodisc Artists Sam & Ruby Hit the Touring Trail in Support of New CD

Musical duo Sam & Ruby have hit the road in support of their debut record, The Here and The Now, which was released Aug. 11 on the Rykodisc label.

Not a pair to be pigeonholed, the music of Sam & Ruby’s has garnered four-star reviews and been embraced by a number of music watchers and fans, from country and acoustic pop, to folk and rhythm ‘n’ blues.

That said, this country music-focused scribe thinks its always best to let the listener decided whether a given act’s sound falls within one’s individual definition of “country.” Hence, many within the genre are diggin’ what Sam & Ruby lay down, including Country Weekly magazine, which dubbed Sam & Ruby’s new album as nothing short of “a seductive gem.”

The Nashville-based duo’s booked a full slate of show in support of the new CD, and it’s a tour that will wind the versatile singer/songwriters around the U.S., with a variety of venues in the mix, from notable performing arts centers to smaller clubs and songwriter hangs. Along the way, they’ll hit L.A.’s renowned Hotel Café and perform once again at the rockin' Voodoo Music Experience festival in New Orleans.
