Texas-based country artist Aaron Watson has completed recording his upcoming project, Deep In The Heart Of Texas: Aaron Watson LIVE, during the final weekend of June at the Hog Creek Icehouse’s backyard amphitheater in Waco, Texas.
According to a July 7, 2009, report from Watson's publicist, the live recording is set to be released as a combo CD/DVD package on Sept. 15 via the artist's own Big Label Records.
With a few thousand fans present, Abilene native Watson's said he hopes he has captured the energy of his live show in the taped, two-hour performance that he described in only one word: incredible.
Watson kicked off the recent concert with his first nationwide single, Love Makin’ Song, which is contained on his latest CD, Angels and Outlaws, before launching into crowd-pleasers such as Rollercoaster Ride, Hearts Are Breaking Across Texas, 3rd Gear & 17, Off The Record and Reckless. He also unleashed two new songs, Bob Wills Is Still the King, a tribute to the legendary Texas fiddleman, and Fightin’ Side of Me in appreciation to American soldiers and the U.S.
Publicist Kristin Palmer also shared that "a notable moment for Aaron was when he brought his wife and two children on stage and, as a humble family, thanked the audience for their undying support of his career."
As for the project's status, it's already reached editing status, with Watson remarking, “I want to make the most of the energy of Saturday night and get this great project in the hands of my fans as soon as possible.”
