InLight Records artist Tommy Cash has joined the client roster of Rollins Media, a public relations firm in the Nashville, Tenn., area that specializes in working with artists in the country-music industry, according to a June 29 press release.
Now touring behind his brand-new tribute CD, the 15-song Fade to Black, Cash--in a June 26, 2009, telephone interview, said, “I am delighted to be represented exclusively by Rollins Media. I look forward to working to together to merge our collective energies toward sharing the message of my music with a wider audience.”
One of seven children and the younger brother to the late Johnny Cash, Tommy first met with solo success on the country charts following service in the U.S. Army and after playing with Hank Williams Jr. In ’68, he grazed the Top 40 with The Sounds of Goodbye before joining Epic Records and releasing the No. 1 single, Six White Horses, a song dedicated to John F. Kennedy, Robert F. Kennedy and Martin Luther King.
Then, in the early ‘70s, Tommy secured two Top-10 singles, One Song Away and Rise and Shine, before notching another Top-20 song, I Recall a Gypsy Woman.
Citing his newest CD as his finest record to date, Cash—following successful live performances and fan meet ‘n’ greets during the 2009 CMA Music Festival in June—currently is en route to Nova Scotia and then Norway, where he will tour in support of the Fade to Black offering, which features duets with son Mark Cash, Marty Stuart, sister/gospel artist Joanne Cash and George Jones, among others.
