Country music’s Joe Nichols recently embarked on a 10-day, multi-city tour of Australia, marking the first time the Universal Records South artist has toured there.
Nichols’ Size Matters Tour got under way Down Under on Feb. 27 at the Empire Theatre in Toowoomba, Queensland, and continues on with dates in Sydney and at the popular CMC Rocks the Snowys in Thredbo.
"I've always been told that Australians love country music, and this is a great opportunity for me to present my music in a live setting to the country music fans there," said the Arkansas native.
Obviously, because Nichols is abroad, he’s unable to attend the now-in session Country Radio Seminar, something he reportedly regrets missing out on.
"Of course because of the timing of the tour, I am unable to attend the Country Radio Seminar this year, and will miss seeing all of my friends in radio,” he shared. “ So might I offer a big ‘g'day, mate’ from Down Under?"
Once he’s back in the U.S., Universal Records South is set to unleash the debut single from Nichols' fourth studio CD, a 13-song offering dubbed Real Things.
The yet-to-be-revealed single is slated to hit radio in April, according to publicist reports, and will be followed by a stateside tour.
