Programming the Web

Web programming is one of those areas that I really enjoy. Though I never get to do enough of it. I've grown up with the web, starting with text interfaces, through Mosaic, Netscape, and right up to Firefox and IE.

Along the way I've built text only web pages, interactive web pages, done server side scripting, and learned about web programming the hard way. So, I thought I'd make it easier for Computer Programming 101 readers; and give a little potted introduction to the topic.

Before I give to the links, perhaps it's worth mentioning some other articles that I wrote some while ago which can be useful too. For the completely uninitiated, may I suggest the Computer Programming 101 article. This covers programming.

If you're really not interested in programming per se, and just want to get a web site up and running, then the HTML Tutorial is a good place to start.

Then come back here. Because, putting those two together is what Web 2.0 is all about. To get the most from it, in the future, you need to know about web programming; a combination of client and server side technologies.
