September, October, and November is when seasonal depression or Seasonal Affective Disorder is most likely to strike. This mood disorder (or a lighter version, called the "winter blues") usually lasts until mid-March.
Seasonal depression is caused by the change in light that the fall months bring. Luckily, treatments for seasonal depression or Seasonal Affective Disorder (SAD) can be easy, inexpensive, and effective! Here's a list of resources for seasonal depression, ranging from natural treatments to coping with a depressed partner.
By the way, there's a new iPhone application that uses focused blue light, which can fight depression, fatigue, and seasonal depression. If you have an iPhone, you might want to look into that app!
