Letter to Isaiah Washington

Dear Isaiah Washington,

What were you thinking? Are you a homophobe or just an insensitive brute who likes to hear himself talk? This brouhaha was ending and you had to go and stick your foot in your mouth yet again. You probably thought it was funny to hog the microphone and "clear the air," but what you really did was grab another opportunity to call TR Knight the f-word. Clearly you didnt learn from the fallout last time, so let me spell it out for you: People love TR Knight. People love class. People do not love abrasive, homophobes. Seriously.

I don't care how popular your show is. When your network is issuing statements saying that they are "disapointed," things are not looking good. I think I can hear your agent crying from here. Nice touch firing the publicist, by the way. Yes, it is definitely the publicist's fault.

You can apologize all you want. You can meet with members of GLAAD and "reach out to the gay community." In theory, that's a great idea but in reality, methinks Dr. Burke will end up in a car accident.

I think the best thing to do now is to contact Mel Gibson. He's probably casting a new movie.

Sincerely,

Karen
