First, for all LA fans of Gilmore Girls and Veronica Mars, the shows will broadcast on Saturday night. (KTLA totally screwed us Los Angeles fans by preempting the shows so we could have live coverage of the Griffith Park fires. I’m not knocking the severity of the fires, but still, did we really need to listen to Hal Fishman for 3 hours????)
More news for Veronica fans: I hear that Rob Thomas pitched the Veronica Mars-5-years-later-now-working- for-the-FBI idea to CW President Dawn Ostroff and it went very well. So, the show just might return after all. But a warning – remember what I said before: it’s unlikely that the rest of the cast would return.
News for reality show fans: MTV is hosting a contest to find the final castmate for Real World 20. (They’re going to Hollywood this time.) Check out RealWorldCasting.com. Those who want to compete register and then they get their own page to populate with pictures, videos and blogs, and then America votes. It looks like fun. VH1 is doing the same for I Love New York 2. That’s right, she’s coming back and she wants America to choose. Check out www.ILoveNewYork2.com.
And, while we’re discussing television interactivity: Calling all Ghost Whisperer fans!- specifically those who watched last Friday’s episode. Fanlib.com, an online destination for fan fiction, is joining forces with CBS and inviting fans to participate in the Ghost Whisperer: Fan Finale Challenge: After watching Part 1 of the season finale on Friday May 4, fans visit GhostWhisperer.FanLib.com to write their own version of what will happen in Part 2, or they can write reviews of other fans’ stories. Winners receive autographed scripts, DVDs, and other exclusive Ghost Whisperer prizes. (Sorry to get this news to you after the May 4 airing. My bad.) Someone let me know if the full episode is available online somewhere. (Why didn't CBS put it on Innertube? Shouldn't that have been a no-brainer?)
