Veronica Mars vs. Lost

I love Wednesday night TV! I haven't joined the rest of the world and gotten Tivo yet (hey, it's expensive) and Lost and Veronica Mars are on at the same time, so my sister and I set up "the command center." This involves setting Lost to tape and dragging out the old 18 inch TV with the rabbit ears(yes, I can manage to shell out $6 for an antennae) and watch Veronica. Then at 10pm we close out the command center and watch Lost. I know this may seem silly, but I take my television very seriously.

I thought Veronica was pretty good. An improvement over last week's but that's not much of an accomplishment. But still, it's nice to see Beaver (where's Mac?)and I feel a huge sense of relief that Kendall is back and flirting with Aaron no less!Good plan, girl! Sure Wallace is back, but I never cared that much about Wallace and he always gets the lamest storylines. Like "duh Wallace, you couldn't predict that was going to happen?"-type storylines. Logan's mushy lovey wuvey-ness is seriously beginning to grate, and I hope and pray that this really is an act. It has to be, right? How happy was I that when Veronica said, "Well, if true love is looking for me, I'll be by the espresso machine" and CUE LOGAN!! Hip hip!! Let's see some sparks already!

As for Lost, they're quickly losing me. Nothing is happening on this show. I do give them credit in that the writing is so good that they can keep me watching even through boring back stories. But still, come on. Will something happen already? And Kate needs a haircut. And oh yeah, a storyline. When is Michelle Rodriguez getting fired? I keep hearing from very good sources that she is being fired, which makes me pretty happy because I think she sucks, and I wish the writers would get back to Kate. But then Michelle has to actually say something approaching acting and - gasp! - being funny: "Jack and Locke are a little too busy worrying about Locke and Jack." Dammit, now I may have to start liking her. Nah.

So, writers? You guys on Veronica, let's focus on V and Logan, and Kendall and Aaron. You did a great thing getting rid of Teddy Dunn and for that I congratulate you. Now, let's get back to the people we care about. And Lost writers? You're good, you are. But can something please happen, because you're about to lose me. And despite the title, I don't think that's what you want.

But I do love my Wednesday night TV. Is it bad that I live Wednesday to Wednesday?
