Over 600,000 Americans experience stokes each year. World wide, stroke is the third leading cause of death. High blood pressure is a silent disease meaning it has no real symptoms, and it is a major cause of strokes.
Some of the early symptoms of a stroke may cause a person to be embarased such as an unsteady gait including tripping or falling. Slurring words or having difficulty finding words can also be an early symptom. Hiding these can have devastating and even fatal effects.
