And boy does it feel good! I had a terrible run of luck over the past several months. The sky-diving began it and then I up and moved to Brooklyn where I contracted swine flu during my first week in my new apartment. It really sucked - there is no other way to put it.

However, I am now settled once again and am working on getting caught up with everything that was put on the back burner during my illness. Earth from Above has been on hiatus since the summer and I am concerned it might be that way for awhile, which is upsetting, but I have a bunch of blogs that I can't wait to see posted.

I will keep you all updated. Thank you for reading!!

I haven't been able to update for a little over a month. The reasons for this begin with my deciding to skydive for my birthday in mid-August. The altitude changes made me feel off and mentally-soupy for a good couple of weeks. I'm better now and am working on getting caught up on all of the books I have to review along with the True Blood episodes that are still waiting in my queue.

Baby steps....

My summer job came to its end last week and since then I have been enjoying Harry Potter of all things. For years, I was very anti Harry Potter, but I needed a new series and I have to admit that I did read the last book when I was in London and it came out in full-on Harry Potter hype.

In puppy-land, Oscar Wilde will turn 9 months old next week and has since abandoned sleeping with me. It was a mixture of sadness and excitement in the end (he is a total bed hog). He's moved to the floor and on Saturday I bought him a bed. He flops in it when he wants me to turn off the lights and go to sleep. It's amazing how dogs can have such strong personalities. Out of all the dogs I have had, fostered or watched, Mr. Wilde is by far the spunkiest.

As for Art Books, I got a chance to read Art – Over 2,500 Works from Cave to Contemporary.

Came home from my day job of teaching girls about girl scouts and making teddy bears with them to sit back down with Oscar Wilde in the AC and write all of my articles for the week. My art book article will have to wait until mid-week as I'm only half way through the book. This FW promotion sure makes me want to dust off that library card I have long since abandoned.

So, as I sat with my puppy with the Golden Girls in the background, I started plugging away at Earth from Above, my fine arts blog at examiner and working on my personal site. By the time I was finished, it made me realize just how many exhibitions are going on now and how much my work outside suite revolves around them.

It made me miss my senior seminar where I got to work, hands-on, in a Daumier exhibition. The Flaneur and the Boulevard was never as interesting as it was then! I hope to gt back to that level of research one day...hopefully sooner rather than later.

I just became the Art Books FW which really excites me! My art background and passion for the subject has filled my library with countless textbooks, visual art books and of course, the fiction novel with art historical references and plot lines. Bear with me as I adjust into the FW position and I'm sure you will not be disappointed with the reviews I am planning to do in the coming weeks.
