Word Artists Get 62 GMA Nods

Encompassing distributed labels, artists, affiliated producers, published writers and printed collections, Word Entertainment was represented in 31 of 43 total nomination categories.

Word Label Group garnered 32 nominations, including top categories "Group," "Artist," and "New Artist," as well as "Producer of the Year," which was captured by Otto Price, VP of A&R for Word Records. Price received three additional nods for production credits on Pocket Full of Rocks' Song to the King, Karen Clark Sheard's It's Not Over and the End of the Spear Soundtrack.

Leading the list with five total nominations, Word Records' Stellar Kart was honored as a finalist for "Artist of the Year," "Rock Recorded Song" ("Activate"), "Rock/Contemporary Recorded Song" ("Me and Jesus"), and "Rock/Contemporary Album" (We Can't Stand Sitting Down). Band frontman, Adam Agee, along with industry veteran, Ian Eskelin, additionally received a "Song of the Year" nod for the writing Stellar Kart's hit song, "Me And Jesus."

Myrrh Records' artist Pocket Full of Rocks was honored in this year's "New Artist" grouping, in addition to a nod in the "Praise and Worship Album" category for its Song To The King project. Word Records' popular singer/songwriter Mark Schultz was nominated for "Pop/Contemporary Album," Broken & Beautiful and "Pop/Contemporary Song" for the album's title track. Word Records' powerhouse vocalist David Phelps received "Inspirational Album" and "Long Form Video" nominations for Legacy of Love...David Phelps Live, as well as "Inspirational Recorded Song," "Behold The Lamb," from the Life Is A Church project.

Word Distribution, another division of Word Entertainment, collected an additional 29 nominations including three for "Song of the Year" ("Bless The Broken Road," "My Savior, My God," "Drifter"). Word Distributed and Brash Music acclaimed newcomer, Aaron Shust, was honored with five nods including the top categories "Song of the Year," "Male Vocalist," and "New Artist." Other nominations represented by Word Distribution included "Female Vocalist of the Year" (Natalie Grant), "Artist of the Year" (The Crabb Family), and another "New Artist of the Year" for DecembeRadio.
