The original "Beauty From Pain" came out in May 2005, selling more than 150,000 copies. Columbia exec Steve Lillywhite heard it, fell for it, and went after Superchick to win them to the label.
"From the moment I heard Superchick I knew there was a level of songwriting that sat with the best of what pop music has to offer," says Lillywhite. "And after seeing them live, I was convinced they were the complete package."
Superchick's Melissa Brock is thrilled. "We're excited that the album will be re-released because of its accessibility to so many people. We are still the same band and will continue to communicate the same positive message for anyone and everyone."
"Beauty From Pain 1.1" will include breakout tune "One Girl Revolution," original remixes of "Anthem" and "We Live," as well as new song "Stand in the Rain," recorded for the major label edition.
