After selling 8 million albums with dcTalk, Kevin Max may not have expected the harsh realities of finding artistic freedom in mainstream Los Angeles. But he pushed through, as is his inimitable way, and he has now found a greater audience drawing from both the church and club worlds. By playing with such musicians as Rich Robinson of The Black Crowes, Warren Cuccurullo of Duran Duran, and The Young Dubliners, Max is winning over new fans across the board.
Max recently began a stint at the legendary Viper Room, which drew capacity crowds and appearances from Christian Slater, Tom Arnold, and Gene Simmons, and even Mary-Kate and Ashley Olsen. The club's talent scout, Joe Rinaldi says, "Kevin Max is fast becoming the Viper Room's answer to Robbie Williams for sheer entertainment value." Also happening for Max right now is The Imposter, an alt-rock, poetically sound album that illuminates the fight between flesh and spirit.
