Jan 15 '07 Toronto airport delays

Since I first posted this blog, there have been a lot of days when flights from Toronto's Pearson International Airport have been delayed. It's winter, after all.

I jokingly say that I can tell the weather in Toronto by looking at how many people are reading this blog!

The websites mentioned here provide up to date flight arrival and departure information.

If you plan to fly in Canada today, or if you are meeting an arriving passenger, check with your airline before heading out for the airport.

I first wrote this on January 15, 2007. At that time, I made these comments about the weather and the flights.

There has been bad weather [on Jan. 15, 2007] in southern Ontario. Many flights from Toronto, from Pearson International Airport (YYZ) were cancelled earlier today. At the time of this writing, 11 a.m. Eastern Standard Time, many of the departing flights were on time.

Because Toronto is a hub for many Canadian flights, the Toronto delays and cancellations of earlier today may be felt elsewhere in Canada.

Websites to Check for Information

Flightstats - a private website with flight and weather information. This website has information for many airlines and airports.

GTAA (Greater Toronto Airport Authority)'s website as a whole is not very helpful. There were no obvious press releases or announcements about the delays when this article was originally published in January 2007. There is a searchable schedule of flight departures and arrivals that has relevant information about flight schedules.

Air Canada arrivals and departures from Air Canada's website has information for all Air Canada flights. Search by flight number.

Air Canada news advisory page, also on Air Canada's website, sometimes has added information about delays.

WestJet arrivals and departures from WestJet's website has information for all WestJet flights.
