Making Money from Home in Your Spare Time

It's nice to have a little extra money to pay the bills, but with three young children I have no time or desire to leave home to work full- or part-time.

Flexible hours and the ability to work from home are two non-negotiable criteria for any money-making opportunity I pursue. Making money with the Internet can be done, but not all avenues are created equal. My best advice for people in my position is to try:

• Freelance writing, both online and offline
• Crowdsourcing
• Paid online surveys
• Mystery shopping (Corporate Research International is my favorite)

Whatever money-making opportunity you investigate, make sure to watch out for online work-at-home scams.
