List of Mormon Rules for Curious Non-Mormons

Those who are interested in the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints (Mormon) usually fall into two camps: those who want to know about Mormon religious beliefs, and those who want to know about Mormon "rules."

Even if you divvy it up into "rules" and "beliefs," it's important to understand that to Latter-day Saints, every rule is religious - the result of a belief. Nevertheless, here is a list of the basic Mormon rules:

• Word of Wisdom - the Lord's code of health
• Law of Chastity - no sex outside of marriage
• Modesty - code of acceptable dress
• Sabbath day - what it means to keep the Sabbath day holy
• Tithing - giving 10% of one's income to the church
