Evaluting Elementary Schools and Choosing the Best School for Your Child

My oldest daughter will be entering kindergarten this fall, and I did a lot of research before ultimately enrolling her in our zoned public elementary school.

Education is so important, especially in the formative years. A good school environment can instill a lifelong love of learning and achievement; a bad school environment can completely squash it.

There are lots of options for K-12 education out there, particularly for families who live in larger cities. They may have access not only to their zoned public school, but also to:

• public schools with open enrollment
• private schools
• magnet schools
• charter schools

Parents who want to homeschool their children could look into virtual K-12 schools for a comprehensive, yearly curriculum and teacher support.
