Stephen Hawking amazes me. After just writing a tribute to him last week, Dr. Stephen Hawking and ALS, I find him up to some new, astounding caper this week! Apparently, Dr. Hawking reached "zero gravity", or weightlessness, in a special jet ride off of the coast of Florida. These simulated space rides, which actually take place in a special airplane, are given by Zero Gravity, a Florida-based company. Passengers are treated to 10 to 15 plunges of about 8,000 feet (!) which renders them weightless. Dr. Hawking settled for eight parabolic dips and said the adventure was "amazing." He actually did a couple of mid-air tumbles to demonstrate his enthusiasm! Go Dr. Hawking! Check out more facts: Stephen Hawking Flies Weightless Aboard Jet.
