Since July is this website's designated Alzheimer's Disease month, I've researched a site that can be informative for European readers, as well as for those everywhere else. Alzheimer Europe came together in 1990 to set up a network of Alzheimer's Disease associations from countries such as Belgium, the Netherlands, Ireland, and Spain. The first meeting was held in Belgium. Currently there are 26 countries involved in Alzheimer Europe.
The Association's initiatives include:
--a telephone helpline
--an internet site for the organization
--a European carer's manual
--a children's book
--cohesive patient legislation for the European Association
The 15th annual Alzheimer European Conference, held June 9-12, 2005, in Killarney, Ireland, can be found online and this year's conference will soon be made available.
