Jennifer Gerics's BlogPosted by Jennifer Gerics 2006 has been an interesting year: I began writing on this site in April, and it has been a very enlightening journey. I've covered topics both new to me and some well-known and close to my heart. I am in the same boat as many of you contending with a chronic neurological disorder. I am hoping for cures to all of these illnesses, but I am also hoping for everyday relief from symptoms. Please join me in the new year for more information and the chance to discuss your feelings and experiences. I wish everyone health and happiness in 2007! There is even a quarterly newsletter, On the Level. It resembles Bell's Palsy because it affects the 7th cranial nerve, thus paralyzing one side of the face. The difference is that Ramsay Hunt Syndrome is only caused by the varicella-zoster virus, otherwise known as chicken pox. The virus can lay dormant in the body for years, suddenly recurring and attacking the 7th cranial nerve. Learn about its symptoms, diagnosis, and treatment in the next article at Neurological Illness@ Suite 101..... ***For more information about Bell's Palsy, visit Bell's Palsy, Bell's Palsy Symptoms , Bell's Palsy Causes, and Bell's Palsy Diagnosis/Treatment.
