A newly-released survey reports that almost half of people who responded stated that they believe in ghosts. Residents of Ontario and the Maritime provinces were more likely to reveal that they think ghosts are real.
Of those who reported being “believers”, just over a third supported the statement that ghosts are for the most part “forces of good”. Almost 20% stated that they had felt the presence of a spirit in the room, while just under 10% shared that they had lived in a haunted house! The same number apparently had received a visitation from a deceased relative.
In keeping with the Hallowe'en theme, my next article will deal with the origins of some Hallowe'en traditions.
