Bigfoot Summer

The Idaho Museum of Natural History will open a Bigfoot exhibit tomorrow. Visitors will be able to view such items as the Patterson-Gimlin film (which allegedly shows a Bigfoot walking away from the camera operator), hair samples, and other items collected by Bigfoot researchers. Rounding out the exhibit will be a stick twisted by a Bigfoot, various artists' depictions of the animal, and the late Bigfoot tracker Rene Dahinden's flannel jacket. To learn more, go to http://imnh.isu.edu/News/newsarchive.html.

The Insitute of Texan Cultures at San Antonio (http://www.texasbigfoot.com/BFinTX.html) is also home to a Bigfoot exhibit, which will run until July 30, 2006. Guest speakers will be a part of the

"Bigfoot in Texas?", which will also include photographs, casts made of hand- and foot prints, and hair samples.

If you are looking for a different kind of get-away this summer, this might be for you: The Bigfoot Researchers Organization recently conducted an expedition in the upper Kilchis River Basin in Tillamook State Forest. The participants apparently did find evidence of Bigfoot in the area and were able to make recordings of the animal. More of the $400 per vehicle (not per person) expeditions are being planned; for more information check out the BFRO web site (http://www.bfro.net).
