Red Sea Cruises

The Red Sea resort of Aqaba is fast becoming one of the main ports of call for an increasing number of cruise ships. This year 27 liners including all the big names in the cruise liner business like Thomson Spirit, Discovery, the Seabourn Spirit, the Silver Wind and the Silver Shadow have visited Jordan’s only sea port.

The Northern Red Sea is one of the fastest growing pleasure destinations in the Middle East. This year 42,000 cruise ship visitors were attracted by what Aqaba Special Economic Zone Authority are marketing as the Golden Triangle Experience. The visitors could chose to enjoy a leisurely day of duty free shopping in Aqaba city centre or take a sightseeing package to Wadi Rum or the Eighth Wonder of the World, Petra.
