If you're anything like me, you get stuck in a good romance novel and can't pull yourself away. Dinner doesn't get cooked, homework gets graded in the wee hours of the morning, and the dog is dancing around in the kitchen with his legs crossed because he's had to go outside for hours.
You're in the right place.
Suite 101's Romance Fiction department is the best place to go to read reviews of new and hot romances, talk about the trends that affect the genre, and revisit old favorites. We'll have interviews with newcomers to the scene, and hopefully a few old pros, and talk about our obsession with all things "happily ever after."
I'm Kristen, your new Romance Fiction hostess, and I'll be your guide to the world of romance novels. I'm a freelance writer with a penchant for bodice-rippers, trashy romances and "fluff" novels (says my husband) and I've been reading them since I was nine years old. I won't tell you how old I am now, but let's just say I've got plenty of experience and leave it at that.
You can tell a lot about a person by looking at their bookshelf, so as a "getting to know you" excercise, here's what I've been reading lately:
Nora Roberts - Dance of the Gods
Nora Roberts - Valley of Silence
Nancy Krulik - Ripped at the Seams
December 2006 "Good Housekeeping" (gotta shake things up once in a while)
2005 Writers Market (duty calls)
Amanda Quick - I Thee Wed
Lisa Jackson - Twice Kissed
Christina Dodd - A Well Favored Gentleman
Linda Lael Miller - Princess Annie
Susan Johnson - A Touch of Sin
And that's just an abbreviated list of the last two weeks. Did I mention I speed read? Leave me a comment and let me know what you've been reading...
Talk to you soon!
