Oscar Party Food

If you want to go all-out and celebrate the way the stars do, why not host your own black-tie dinner? Serve asparagus wrapped in prosciutto and roasted red pepper artichoke dip as appetizers.

Parsnip soup with pears is an excellent first course.

And Beef tenderloin served with mashed sweet potatoes and roasted Brussels sprouts make an excellent main course. And for dessert, serve flourless chocolate cake.

My colleague, Mary Luz Mejia has some excellent recipes for Oscar Worthy Cocktails.

You can make elegant favors out of chocolate-covered strawberries. Just put two berries in a clear party bag (you can buy them at Michaels) and tie with a pretty ribbon!

If you prefer to go with a more casual celebration, start with guacamole and baked tortilla chips. Have chili con carne, broccoli salad and corn bread for dinner. And serve cheesy gourmet popcorn during the show!
