Cinco de Mayo commemorates the triumph of the Mexican Army over French forces in the Battle of Puebla on May 5, 1862. Today, Mexicans and Americans celebrate Cinco de Mayo with food, festivals, parades and dancing.
Start the party with fun Mexican appetizers like Zesty Guacamole Salsa, 7 Layer Mexican Dip, Homemade Tortilla Chips, Guacamole with Tomatillos and Roasted Red Pepper and Black Bean Dip.
For the main course, try Chicken Burritos with Black Beans, or Sara Moulton's Super Food Burritos
with Avocado Salsa.
Authentic drinks for Cinco de Mayo include Mexican Eggnog, Champurrado and of course, margaritas.
