American Rupp Romps in Australia

American distance prodigy, Galen Rupp of the University of Oregon, capped off a solid 2006 campaign with a resounding victory in the prestigious Zatopek Classic 10,000 meters with a fine performance of 28:28.18.

Racing in cold and rainy conditions, the 20-year old outlasted fellow training partner and American Bret Schoolmeester (28:46.26), while Australian marathoning legend, Lee Troop, placed third with a time of 28:53.31.
