Don’t Lose It, Move It!

It really is amazing how negligent we have become as a country, don’t you think? Look around you, take a look at the news, the newspapers or magazines, it’s everywhere. What am I talking about, I’m talking about the way we treat our own bodies our health. Numerous diseases are on the rise and have been for sometime now. Children being diagnosed with diseases previously associated with adults, the number of obesity related deaths climbing higher and higher each year, more and more time lost from work due to illness associated with (you got it) obesity, don’t you think it’s time to take some action?

As I have written time and again, and will continue to do so, you don’t have to exercise until you pass out, simply walking for 30 minutes a day will provide you with life altering fitness benefits. Or chose an activity you enjoy that gets you moving for that same 30 minutes per day. The benefits you reap will far out-weight the incapacities you may suffer down the road as you begin to age. In fact exercise can help decrease the aging process.

I am not writing this to frighten anyone because this data is already out there for all that choose to notice, I just want to spark you to take action, any action is better than none at all, wouldn’t you agree? I just recently read an article about an anti-depressant drugs that weakens the bones in the elderly. How ironic is that, did you know that exercise as simple as walking can not only reduce depression in some people but also help strengthen the skeletal system at the same time. So there is a strong possibility that if you are involved in a fitness regimen you may not have to take medication for depression or any other disease or deal with any side-affect the medications may produce.

“LETS GET MOVING PEOPLE.”
