Do We Really Need Another Crisis In This Country?

Ok we all know that our children are becoming less and less active and getting bigger by the minute. We, as parents have the responsibility of getting them moving. Years ago, (about 20 or more) children didn't spending all of their free time sitting in front of the television or computer. But, alas, all that has changed, with single parent homes or both parents working long crazy hours, it is definitely harder to influence what your children do.

You may have some control over the foods you make available for consumption in your home, but the movement part seems to present a bigger challenge. What to do, what to do, you ask. Well, it will require some creative thinking on your part such as planned family activities, children's exercise videos, toys that require movement to play with or an after school sport. The important point here is to get the children moving again.

Think about this for a moment, it's can be frightening to imagine what the future will be like 15 to 20 years from now, for this country with so many overweight and obese adults.

Overweight and obese adults are sick more often, have lower self-esteem and a higher incident of disease than non-overweight and obese adults. I just want to put it out there again (it's in the news daily) that we need to take charge of this situation before it escalates into a full-blown epidemic.
