Starfall

Here's a website I wish I had access to when my children were in first grade.

Starfall focuses on teaching and encouraging first grade children to listen and read. The free online stories and games are fantastic! Children will learn about the ABCs, listen to stories, and read stories out loud.

For parents whose child is just about to enter first grade, Starfall is great for giving your child a head start. For parents whose child had reading troubles (first or second grade) Starfall can be used to help your child gain the skills she or he needs. Just work on one program a day, redo the tougher ones, and see if you notice a difference.
