I remember making safety pin jewelry just for fun back in the 80s. And then, in the early 90s, my friends and I would take out ancient Egyptian books from the library and try to recreate the Egyptian jewelry using gold safety pins and blue beads. We would sit around a table, connecting our stack of pins, and whispering gossip. Boys would occasionally stop by and make themselves a quick safety pin bracelet for kicks. We were all having a good time.
To begin making safety pin jewelry you will need safety pins: lots and lots of safety pins. Buy them in bulk. The small safety pins are the best: gold or silver. Beads can also be used to add color to your creations.
You can make brooches by pinning small, medium, and large sized beaded safety pins together on a large safety pin. Bracelets can be made using small safety pins; necklaces small, medium, and large safety pins can be used. Experiment and have fun!
