Hello Readers,
Summer is here and with it more time for children to spend learning about the world around them. Weather has always been an intriguing topic for children. Learning to read the sky, to predict if clouds will bring rain, snow, heat, cold, or storm is a valuable skill.
In this new article you will find instructions for designing a weather chart and questions for the student to consider in his observation of the weather. He will be guided to research materials and should learn, not only how to read or listen to published forecasts, but how to make and compare his own.
"Red sky at night - sailor's delight. Red sky in the morning - sailors take warning. " We have all heard this simple weather rhyme. Are there more? Yes, indeed, and these were once a mainstay of farmers, travelers, and city dwellers alike.
Weather can be observed and interpreted with the use of simple measurement tools or with no instruments other than a keen eye and a curious mind. Come join the fun weather watching.
