Cloud Watching

Dear Readers,

Clouds are a mystery and a fascinating subject to many children. I believe clouds are wonderful to observe and are themselves the greatest indicator of what the weather will be. How to be a Cloudspotter will give kids the basics of cloud lore and some ideas for watching the clouds.

Children can learn the names of clouds and why clouds form the shapes and at altitudes which the are seen. With a bit of study and practice a student may develop the skill of spotting clouds that help him or her make everyday judgements as to what is happening weatherwise.

Another idea for classroom or homeschool study of weather can be found in How to Make a weather Chart --an article about weather study with children.
