Many women like to do crafts with their children. They buy all kinds of paints, colored pens, stickers, tracing paper and so much more. A cheaper way to some cool crafts, especially for the non-crafter, is to use your computer. All you need is some pictures, a word processing program and a color printer.
Pictures can be scanned or found for free on the internet. Microsoft has thousands of free clip art, photos, boarders and backgrounds.
You can find some craft ideas on my website by clicking on Computer Software Suite101.Craft articles start with the word "Craft." A basic knowledge of word processing is all you need to get started. Young children around seven or eight are able to do these projects with adult supervision.
If you are someone who is computer savvy, there are many other programs you can use for some type of craft. For example, Microsoft Publisher is perfect to write a booklet or short story. The type of greeting card you choose doesn't matter because you will be deleting most of the card elements. For instructions for this project click on Craft - Booklet
The booklet is also great for poems, menus, something cute your children have done, documenting your vacation, even family songs you and your children like to sing together.
If there are other computer crafts you would like to know how to create (and do not find them on my web site) send me an email and I will see what I can do to work out the directions.
Have fun! :-)
