Welcome to the new blog for Suite101.com’s Geography section!
Geography is so much more than knowing where things are on a map. It is the study of Earth’s physical, biological, and cultural characteristics and the interactions between those spheres. Discussions include aspects of earth science, biology, anthropology, and climatology, among many other topics. For that reason, you may see some overlap between Geography and other sections in Science and Nature.
In the Geography section, you will find articles about physical geography, human geography, geomorphology, biogeography, cartography, and maps. These topics cover a wide range of subject matter, from descriptions of topography to using maps to locate excellent fishing sites. In Geography, we observe the patterns and processes of how the environment changes, how organisms interact with their habitats, and what it means for us humans.
If you’re a Suite101 contributing writer with expertise in any of these topics, I invite you to add to the wealth of information found in the Geography section. If you’re not a Suite101 writer and feel you could contribute to this section, I encourage you to join our site! Applying is easy, and you could earn some extra cash while sharing your knowledge with the world!
Check back at this blog often as I highlight new Geography articles and geography-related news and events.
