Where did I put that good thermometer? God knows there are at least seven of them in cabinets all throughout the house that either run high, run low, or are stuck on 96.0 permanently. But the "good" thermometer is somewhere . . . I put it where I could find it . . . somewhere really convenient . . .

It's September, folks, and almost time to hunt down the good thermometer, the vaporizer, the Vicks, and depending on where you live, the electric blanket.
Being prepared for cold weather, in addition to dusting off the sleds and shaking out the scarves, means getting ready for the downside of winter, too.
