A Moving Experience

Spring has long sprung, school is out and if you're relocating, this is a popular time to do it.

At the end of every school year, at least one of my kids comes home and tells me that one of their friends is moving.

We've been there.

I've moved my kids seven times, all but one of them out-of-state moves, all of them long-distance relocations, and all exciting and traumatic at the same time.

If you're moving with children, congratulations and you have my sympathies. It's tough. The older they are, the harder it is on the kids; and the harder it is on the stay-at-home parent. Your spouse will go off to a new job, and you'll be faced with the task of making sure the kids are adjusting, their rooms are as nice as they wanted, they're meeting neighborhood kids, and getting hooked up to new schools, playgroups, music lessons, sports and activities.

Don't sweat the small details. Enjoy the adventure.
