Have food your friends and family can assemble themselves instead of you doing it all. Wraps are great. Sushi is good too. Nice big bowl of chili that people can dig into whenever they like works. Posted by Devorah Stone Remember when kiwis were an exotic fruit? They all came from New Zealand. They cost $2.00 each. Kiwis is green and chocked full of great nutrients and vitamins. California was the first place I know of to start growing them. The price went down. And now it’s grown locally just about everywhere including where I live – Victoria BC Canada! I got a bag of six of these green gems for less than $2! They are wonderful on top of pancakes in a fruit salad or as the finishing touch of an Anna Pavlova or any whipped cream concoction. The prices are student friendly, down right cheap and you get a full meal. If you’re smart you’ll eat there for lunch and have a light dinner. There probably is a culinary school in your area – find out if they a cafeteria or a restaurant or a special night for the public. Or perhaps you can hire them for your special occasion. Posted by Devorah Stone I don’t like packed sandwiches so having a small fridge and a microwave is a fabulous. I take yesterdays (never more than one day and make sure it isn’t out of the fridge for more than one hour) leftover food put it in the fridge and zap it in the microwave (make sure its hot) for lunch. Ask at work if you can have a mini kitchen, it will save you money and time. |
