I adopted my first Persian cat about a year ago. To cut long story short, he was already 8 years old and, sadly, I found him in a very bad emotional and physical condition. I've never had to deal with cats, sickly ones in particular, and only knew about caring for dogs and turtles. I had to sacrifice many hours of my time for research concerning proper care of Persian cats, and it was literally months before I could see any progress.
My cat, Marquise, refused to use the litter box; he was biting our legs, hands, and scratching us all over for no reason whatsoever; he had panic attacks whenever guests were visiting us and he was constantly overeating. He wouldn't allow anyone touch him; let alone brush his fur (all in awfully knotted hair-balls). I wasn't able to pat him on his head, take him on my hands, or take him anywhere outside the house. He wouldn’t run; he wouldn’t play with anyone or anything.
Right now, Marquise is 100% healthy and happy cat! Even a spoiled one, I admit!
How I, finally, managed to ease all his fears and solve health issues is a long, long story. I’d like to tell it in detail and in relative order – hence the blog post. Here are some of my cat care articles; many more are yet to come.
