The US FDA has published reports stating that meat and milk from cloned animals is safe. It seems likely that the Food and Drug Administration will give the green light for farmers to begin putting these products on the shelves.
Recent studies indicate that around 65 percent of US residents have concerns about cloned foods or food from cloned animals. In addition to safety questions, there are also moral issues related to cloning. Another concern that crops up is that many people feel that cloned products will not be clearly labeled.
The FDA is publishing findings at the official site and also taking comments from the general public for the next three months. If you have thoughts on this issue, now is the time to speak up. You can add your thoughts right through the web site.
A decision will be coming down soon.
