Your Baby's First Week Home

We recently had our dishwasher go out and had to buy a new one. As luck would have it, the dishwasher broke two days before my baby was born. I cannot keep my kitchen clean without a dishwasher. With a preschooler, a toddler, and an infant a dishwasher is mandatory. When buying a new dishwasher it is really helpful to look up dishwasher reviews online. Unfortunately we were so tight on time because of my planned induction that we had to take the word of the appliance salesman. The only thing I wanted when I got home from the hospital was a working dishwasher.

It seems like no matter how well you plan for your baby's arrival there is always something that will come up to complicate your plans. When preparing to welcome a new baby the best thing to do is just be flexible and know that there is always a chance that all your well thought out plans will need to be thrown out the window. Having an open minded attitude can help you better deal with any complications that come up, especially once the after baby hormones kick in. Have family members on standby in case you need help with something unexpected after your baby comes home. Make a pre-baby trip to the store to stock up on basic household items like diapers and wipes for the baby. Don't forget about your own needs and the needs of the rest of your family. You may not want to make a trip to the store in the first week you are home. Stock up on toilet paper, easy to prepare meals, and other personal hygiene items so you don't find yourself making an unplanned trip to the store with a newborn.
