So many pediatricians are now recommending against using cold medicine for children under 2. With winter just around the corner, cold season is on it's way. How can you keep your baby comfortable when they are sick without giving them cold medicine? Bulb syringes and saline solution can work wonders for stuffy noses. Propping your baby up in their crib by placing a pillow under their crib mattress can help them to breath easier. A great tool that should be in any home with an infant or toddler is a humidifier. Humidifiers can help your toddler to sleep better at night and provide relief when they are especially stuffy during the day.
Be sure and read up on humidifier reviews before making a purchase. Some humidifiers are much better than others. You can find humidifiers that are decorative and can be left in plain sight in your toddlers bedroom all through the winter. Running the humidifier occasionally when your toddler is not sick can help prevent chapped skin and dry noses.
