For a long time after my second son was born I avoided the grocery store. It was too much of a hassle to go shopping with an infant and a toddler and most of the time it didn't seem worth the effort. I would either go after my kids were in bed or send my husband on his way home from work. After a while I learned a few coping methods to get through a trip to the grocery store without being so frustrated that I just wanted to go home and put my kids to bed for the night. Every child is different. Your toddler may love the grocery store or they may hate it. It is important to learn the best time for your own toddler to visit the store. When are they at their best?
We've managed to make trips to the grocery store more exciting by visiting the store that has the ride on Bob the Builder truck. If my kids are good they get to sit on the truck for a few minutes after we are done shopping. For right now it is enough to get them excited about going to the store and encourage them to behave while we are there.
