I'm Certified!

Soil supporters and worm lovers, unite! (And get certified!)

Who couldn't resist a web site that carefully explains: "It's a dirty job but someone has to do it. S.K. Worm, the official annelid, or worm, of the Natural Resources Conservation Service answers students' questions about soil. Even their teachers can't wiggle their way out of this one! Slither your way through these soiled questions and earn a very special diploma. You might even get hooked on Soil!"

This is a great quick introduction or review for gardeners, although it was developed with kids in mind. If you teach or volunteer with kids of all ages, they might enjoy this step by step lesson and become proud certificate holders, too. (You can personalize it and print it out.) Garden clubs and master gardeners might enjoy it as well. Nothing beats a proudly certified ... um ... anyway, it's fun and it's educational.

Just visit the Natural Resources Conservation Service (NRCS) web site and follow the quick and easy lessons to learn lots about soil, then print out your very own certificate. Be sure to pass this along to friends so they too can become officially certified.

Ask the Answer Worm! Enjoy!
