I recently published a link to an article showing step by step instructions for making roses from maple leaves, complete with lovely color photos. The site I linked to published this material in English and did not attribute the work.
Now, there is a note "crediting" the material to someone named Natalie and a link to a site in Russian where the work appears to have been published previously -- in 2005.
I sure hope permission has now been requested and actually granted to publish the photos and a translation of the instructions -- better late than never. If not, the English language site I linked to is using stolen material. And to be honest, I would understand completely if the original author refused permission after the fact and insisted it be removed.
As a writer whose work appears on the internet, I feel strongly about respecting copyright laws. I hope you do, too.
Here is the original in Russian. Scroll down for a great photo of a Christmas tree decorated with roses and some nifty leaf crowns.
Here is what I wrote about the translated piece.
