Cats can be an awful problem in the garden. They use it for the litter box. They hang out and get into night time catfights. They make noise. They dig and mess up the mulch. They roll in the plants. They chase the birds. What a bunch of lowlifes these cats are! But wait, I like cats! We have one!!
All consternation aside, what is a gardener to do? Please, NO moth balls -- and NO red pepper, either. These are not safe around animals (or children) and there are MANY alternatives you can try instead.
I recently devoted some organized thought to the problem and came up with a bunch of humane, do-able solutions for keeping cats out of the garden or at least encouraging them to move on. Take a look and maybe you'll get some good ideas at how to solve this yucky problem.
