Improving Concentration and Memory

The biggest complaint in the classroom from students are they cannot concentrate because Billy keeps tapping his pencil. Often students are easily distracted in the classroom and spend more time looking out the window or observing Mary twirling her hair than working on their assignment.

Concentration is a skill that can be improved with simple concentration exercises. It is important to begin teaching concentration exercises as young as kindergarten and to continue throughout high school. Students are easily distracted and will make any excuse to not complete their assignments. By teaching students how to concentrate in any situation you are giving them a valuable tool for life.
