Games and students are best friends. Students would much rather play a game than listen to a teacher or fellow students review a concept. Too often students are passive learners and are unable to be active in learning or reviewing a concept.
Halloween Math Games are quick and easy games to set up but it is strong in reveiwing basic mathematical concepts. Spider Legs and Halloween Night are wonderful to review mental math of multiplication, subtraction, division, and addition. Students will enjoy competing against each other as they master basic math skills.
In addition, Lucky 13 will review the concept of place value. Students must use a place value chart for the game and students are able to challenge themselves by increasing the number of place values on the chart. Once students master 2 place value units they are able to increase by 1. Some students may challenge themselves to billions, only requirement is the number of dice in the classroom for the games.
