Differentiated Learning

Philosophy of education is always shifting and teachers are now being taught to teach to the student not the class. Students are being placed in groups according to their social and academic skills. As well, it is wise to place students in groups based on the 8 multiple intelligences outlined by Howard Gardner.

Howard Gardner has proposed eight learning styles and Jeanne Gibbs has designed an exceptional concept to group students in the classroom. Jeanne Gibbs concept is known as Tribes Learning Communities and she recognizes the importance of students to feel safe in the classroom environment if they are to be successful learners. She has outlined a range of cooperative games in her book for all subjects.

Group Learning Process is an important element that involves all students. It allows students to learn from each other and not be passive learners. A fun cooperative game Doubles Tag makes all students participate in gym not just the fast kids.
